Australian Songs #4: The Curse Of Company

I Curse Of Company sono una band di Sydney formata da David Rennick (Dappled Cities), Sarah Kelly (The Red Sun Band), Danny Heifetz (Mr Bungle e Secret Chiefs 3′s), Jack Ladder (Jack Ladder) e Burke Reid (Gerling). Sono giunti all’esordio discografico il 22 luglio scorso con l’album “Leo Magnets Joins A Gang”, pubblicato da Dangerbird Records negli U.S.A. (in versione digitale) e da Universal in Australia.
Influenzati dai Velvet Underground e da Neil Young, i Curse Of Company sono autori di un folk rock psichedelico avvincente e quando canta l’affascinante Sarah Kelly (“Any Day”, “I Have A Simple Life”) vengono alla mente i Mazzy Star più eterei.
Un disco riuscito, per una band che è molto di più di un semplice progetto collaterale.
